As our children head back to school today (Monday, the 15 of February), we thought it would be a wonderful idea to spoil them a little bit. And with Valentine’s Day being celebrated yesterday, we decided to make it a weekend of love and fun in the sun.
It all started with a ‘Decorate your Door’ competition on Friday. The residents from each of the nine houses at the children’s home had to decorate their doors showing the world what they love in life. With hearts, photos and decorations firmly in place, our judges had an extremely hard time choosing winners.
In the end, Alfa were crowned the overall girls winners and Betel the kings of the castle.
These winning houses will be treated to a ‘movie night’ and of course popcorn, sweets and drinks to complete the package this coming weekend.
Saturday was full of surprises when two huge cakes and 250 Coke buddies arrived from Don and his team from Miederpark Spar. This definitely gave the kids something to smile about and forget about going back to school even if just for a little while.
A ‘Valentine’s sokkie’ stole the show on Saturday night. It was an impressive team effort to transform the main hall into a love paradise and our kids had plenty of fun as they danced the night away.
The weekend was rounded off with a braai at the swimming pool as the kids cooled off and dived right in to escape the heat during a typical February afternoon.
Our office personnel and childcare workers were also treated to sweet treats and drinks in what turned out to be an awesome start to a weekend filled with love and plenty of magic. We hope you all had an amazing weekend with your special ones because all we need is love!
