After almost two years of uncertainty, we, at Abraham Kriel Children’s Home Potchefstroom, are thrilled to announce the return of the Liggiefees@Potch which will take place from Wednesday, 1 December to Thursday, 23 December.
In light of the COVID-19 situation, we have decided to focus mostly on our lights this year. The safety of everyone concerned drove our decision and even though there won’t be any artists performing this year, there are plenty of other reasons to bring your family and friends.
‘Lite’ but with plenty of bite!
Although this year’s edition – known as Liggiefees Lite@Potch 2021 – will be slightly different, there will still be spectacular light displays, a huge Liggiemark where last-minute Christmas shopping may be done, a fairy garden, the sensational music & lights corner, loads of seating, beautiful open spaces under starry skies, delicious food, play areas for the little ones and a well-stocked bar & tuckshop.
‘Meet the Stars’
The info stall also promises to deliver a unique experience. Visitors will be able to watch an Abraham Kriel movie in a mini-cinema where popcorn will be served after walking down the red carpet. The purpose of this stall is to provide festival goers with information about the children’s home – focusing on the Sponsor-a-Child project.
We have decided to make it fun and more interactive this year. There will also be plenty of prizes up for grabs so as a friendly warning: don’t skip the info stall in 2021!
The popular toy, lights and gadget stall will also open its doors and can be found at the info stall. Kids will be able to blow their pocket money while mom and dad enjoy a glass of wine or a beer from the Pik’n Wyn stall close by.
Bigger and better Liggiemark
If shopping is your thing, then be sure to make your way to the Liggiemark this year where there’ll be a variety of homemade items for sale. No cash? No problem – card facilities will be available.
Stay tuned
The Abraham Kriel team is hard at work with less than 50 days to go. There is a hub of activity wherever you go – whether it be on the terrain where workers are busy putting up lights or in the office where the marketing team is finalising every minor detail.
