Our annual light festival – known as Liggiefees@Potch – which illuminates thousands of lives each year – has sadly had to be called off.
The safety of our visitors, as well as our staff members and children, will always be our no 1 priority. As organisers of the event, we can easily expect up to 5 000 visitors a night and with the current restrictions in place with regards to the amount of people attending an event, it would be impossible to socially distance and ensure that everyone is 100% safe.
The inability to host an event of this magnitude has huge financial implications for Abraham Kriel Children’s Home. But at this stage, we just cannot take the risk of going ahead as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to disrupt our lives.
Abraham Kriel, in conjunction with all the artists, decided to rather go full steam ahead for 2021 where we’ll look forward to seeing you once more for what promises to be an epic return!
