VOLUNTEERS
We highly
appreciate and welcome the help of local and
international volunteers! The Abraham
Kriel Child and Youth Care Centre are also willing to
provide accommodation to our international volunteers –
please do not hesitate to contact us in this regard.
The Abraham Kriel Child and Youth Care Centre
makes
use of a number of volunteers to deliver a more
comprehensive service to the children. Currently, the
centre is making use of the following volunteers:

A total of 52
weekend and holiday-friends who play host to the
children during holidays
-
Nine German
volunteers who work at the centre on a full-time
basis and assist the child and youth caregivers
-
Five students who
give up their time during the week to tutor the
children
-
Two professional
dance instructors
-
Two professional
karate instructors
-
Thirteen advisory
council members
-
A law student who
did intensive marketing for the centre
-
Fourteen
congregations who are involved with the different
housing units
-
The well-known South African actress, Therese Benadé,
acts as a patron for the centre. Other well-known
persons such as Kurt and Dunay Darren, Romanz, Navy
Red, Amanda Farrow, Martin Bester, Minki van der
Westhuizen, Jean-Marie Neethling, Tammy-Anne Fortuin,
Gavin Prins and Michael Bezuidenhout, are also
ambassadors of the centre

The Nimue-Emily Trust is also a faithful contributor
to the Sponsor-a-Child Project, and is furthermore
involved in the organization of an annual function
held for the children of the centre
